Sheets
If you don't come back soon
I'll do what I always do
Take a lover that don't satisfy
Throw him out before
My sheets are dry
If you don't come back soon
I'll do what I always do
Take a lover that don't satisfy
Throw him out before
My sheets are dry
Are you coming
Are you going
Is there any way
Of knowing you'll appear
I might have mournfully
Muscled through the last few months
But I don't know if
I'm capable of years
I'm snap and sevens trained
But patience ain't my game
So let me win a little from the start
Though there's only
One more hand
I know you never planned
To get this far
If you don't come back soon
I'll do what I always do
Take a lover that don't satisfy
Throw him out before
My sheets are dry
If you don't come back soon
I'll do what I always do
Take a lover that don't satisfy
Throw him out before
My sheets are dry
You
You like to keep me locked
In your little room
Just in case I find
Somebody new
Cause tainted
Tried and tested
Ain't good enough for you
Well I got needs
And I got desires
So why are you the
Only one to stoke these fires
Possession obsession
Loneliness and confession
All these I'd forgive
For just some sweet affection
Like a skipping record
Repeating your name
Over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again
If you don't come back soon
I'll do what I always do
Take a lover that don't satisfy
Throw him out before
My sheets are dry
If you don't come back soon
I'll do what I always do
Take a lover that don't satisfy
Throw him out before
My sheets are dry
first saw Hilary when she toured Europe with Low in 2019, saw her 4 times on that tour. extraordinary. latest LP, Birthmarks, sees her on the edge of music. utterly perfect hatteroid
This is absolute genius. Each song has its own unique mood, but what they all have in common is that they take their time, allowing the lush, patient, dazzlingly imaginative arrangements to gradually blossom. There are a dizzying variety of instrumental textures, pleasure and wonderment around every turn. I'm getting hints of Will Oldham circa "Arise Therefore," though that album is much more spare. Proof that "experimental" doesn't necessarily mean noisy. Joe Madden
